Attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Agriculture and rural development Hoang Van Thang; provinces and cities leaders of Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City; representatives of sponsors, constructors and guests.

 

Phuoc Hoa water resources project is one of hydraulic facilities of the development plan in this field in order to resolve the water shortage for socio- economic development in Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Tay Ninh, Long An provinces and Ho Chi Minh City. The hydraulic project is the first project changing basin water in Vietnam, comprises complex technical works such as the biggest and tallest aqueduct bridge canal in hydraulic field: aqueduct bridge canal of height 19 meters and its maximum power will be 6.4 billion m³ per day.

 

 

Once in operation, Phuoc Hoa Hydraulic generator will provide water of 1.3 million m³ per day for local people and industry in Binh Duong province, 432 thousands m³ per day for Binh Phuoc province, 350 thousands m³ per day for Long An province, 300 thousands m³ for Tay Ninh Province and 900 thousands m³ per day for Ho Chi Minh City. Moreover, the project also provide water for 29,900 ha of agricultural land in Tan Bien district (Tay Ninh province), Duc Hoa district (Long An province) and Thai My commune (Ho Chi Minh city).

 

 

Phuoc Hoa water resource project composes two phases with the total capital of US$ 329.5 million (approximate 6,100 billion VND), in which, US$ 216 million of sponsor capital, US$ 109.8 million of Vietnam Government reciprocal capital and US$ 3.7 million of provinces and cities capitals of the Project.

 

November 25^th, 2011, Phuoc Hoa reservoir and aqueduct canal were finished and experimented. December 7^th, 2011, the project was inspected and requested to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to adopt its quality ensuring and meet conditions to be loaned capital for the second phase.
