Mr. Le Hoang Quan, Party Centre Committee Member - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Urban Association, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee and Head of Southeast Urban Area; Mr. Nguyen Ninh Thuc - Vice Secretary General of Vietnam Urban Association; Mr. Tran Than Liem - Vice Chairman of Binh Duong People’s Committee and the leaders of Southeast provincial People’s Committee and Construction Department attended.

 

This was an annually event in order to all the members have the chances to meet and exchange the experiences in urban management, construction and development, help to give opportunities for comprehensive and sustainable development Vietnam urban in general and Southeast Urban region in particular.

 

 

 

Mr. Le Hoang Quan said, this 3^rd conference was an opportunity for Urban region members to share experiences in causes, advantages, disadvantages and show effective solutions in the basic urban management to built a modern and civilized urban, sustainable development combines with climate changes and contribute for socio-economic development in Southern key economic zone.

 

For Binh Duong province, the target is to build a modern and civilized Thu Dau Mot Urban in establishing The Binh Duong Industry-Service-Urban Complex (called The Binh Duong new city) and neighboring industrial parks. From 2002, Binh Duong Party Committee Management Board promulgated the Decision 47-NQ/TU dated on Dec 26, 2002; Decision 66-ND/TU dated on July 31, 2006 and decision 32-NQ/TU dated on May 19, 2011 on building and developing Thu Dau Mot Urban, in which by 2015, Thu Dau Mot will achieve all the standards of a grade 1 urban, a provincial city.

 

 

 

Thu Dau Mot town was recognized as a grade 3 urban in 2007. It attained the esential standards for a grade 2 urban.

 

The conference proposed to be held in a one day. Beside of sharing experiences in urban reconstruction, the participants also visited Binh Duong new city and gave ideas and solutions on construction and development a new urban.
